Adidas SPEZIAL has unveiled the latest addition to its lineup, introducing the Gazelle SPZL silhouette as a highlight of the AW23 collection, meticulously curated by adidas archivist and Spezial founder, Gary Aspden.
A fusion of the classic adidas Gazelle with a contemporary twist defines the Gazelle SPZL. Drawing inspiration from various eras spanning the late 60s to the 80s, this modern iteration showcases an entirely revamped upper, showcasing a fresh foxing tape. The design cleverly blends textures, paying homage to the shoe’s rich heritage.
Celebrating the revered status of this certified adidas footwear icon, the Spezial range introduces two distinct versions of the Gazelle SPZL. The initial variant boasts a lush bottle green suede body with contrasting white stripes. Notably, it incorporates a traditional ‘dimple’ tongue and a white eyestay, reminiscent of the early 70s West German edition. On the other hand, the second iteration arrives in a captivating navy colorway, drawing inspiration from the iconic ‘Tahiti Marine’ terrace classic. It features a suede upper adorned with flock stripes, a material previously unseen on Gazelle stripes. Additionally, the suede tongue is adorned with a woven branded label, adding to its unique appeal.
Both captivating colorways of the Gazelle SPZL are now available for purchase through the adidas Confirmed app and select retailers, marking another chapter in the evolution of this beloved adidas silhouette.
