Nike G.T. Cut 3 Basketball Shoe

Nike’s design team embarked on a meticulous journey to ensure the G.T. Cut 3 strikes the perfect balance between ZoomX Foam’s unparalleled responsiveness and the essential low-to-the-ground court feel. The result is nothing short of astonishing: a shoe that not only sits closer to the ground than its predecessor, the G.T. Cut 2 but also sheds weight, delivering a springy and responsive sensation on the hardwood.

When it comes to making explosive moves towards the rim, especially with the rocket-like propulsion of Nike ZoomX Foam, stability is paramount. The G.T. Cut 3 doesn’t disappoint, boasting a lightweight textile upper fortified with Flywire technology to lock in the forefoot securely. To further enhance containment and ensure players stay firmly over the footbed during abrupt stops and cuts, a TPU component wraps around the lateral sidewall.

Jewell Loyd, the guard for the Seattle Storm, attests to the G.T. Cut 3’s transformative qualities, stating, “The G.T. Cut 3 enhances my ability to stop on a dime and gives me that quick first step which has always been a part of my game.” Loyd’s ability to outmaneuver defenders is a testament to the shoe’s performance-boosting features, allowing for quick shots and defensive plays that elevate the game to a whole new level.

The outsole of the G.T. Cut 3 is no afterthought. It incorporates modified herringbone pods meticulously designed for tried-and-true traction in the areas where players need it most during cutting maneuvers. The pattern’s development was informed by pressure mapping, ensuring that every step is secure and firmly planted on the court.

But that’s not all. For the first time in the Greater Than Series, Nike is introducing a more cost-efficient model, the G.T. Cut Academy, which maintains a strong focus on comfort, traction, and style. Designed for athletes who play on multiple courts with various surfaces, this model features a forefoot Zoom Air unit, Renew Foam, and a traditional herringbone traction pattern, delivering top-notch performance without breaking the bank.

And let’s not forget the young athletes; the G.T. Cut 3 is also available in kids’ sizes for both Grade School and Preschool players. Designed to instill confidence and security in budding hoopers as they make their cuts toward the basket, the kids’ model comes equipped with a Cushlon midsole and a modern herringbone traction pattern, ensuring that young athletes feel comfortable and explosive on the court.

The newest additions to the G.T. Cut franchise were officially unveiled on November 6, 2023, and they are set to hit the market in Spring 2024.
