In 2021, Nike embarked on a journey to create a top-of-the-line trail racing shoe that combined the expertise gained from their world-class road running innovations with the demands of the trail. Working closely with renowned Nike Trail athlete Tyler Green, the team crafted a shoe that surpassed expectations. With over 1,000 miles logged in the Ultrafly Trail during training and remarkable top-five finishes in the prestigious 100-mile Western States Endurance Run, Green’s valuable feedback shaped a product that aims to help all runners reach their trail-running goals.

Recognizing the importance of exceptional grip on challenging terrains, Nike joined forces with Vibram designers to revolutionize the Ultrafly Trail’s outsole. Incorporating Vibram’s renowned expertise, the shoe features a brand-new and exclusive sole design. The Ultrafly’s outsole utilizes Vibram’s Litebase technology, offering trail runners a lightweight, agile design that incorporates Vibram Traction Lug technology and Vibram MegaGrip compound for unrivaled traction.
