LG is introducing its 97-inch LG Signature OLED M (model M3), which is the first consumer TV in the world to feature Zero Connect technology—a wireless solution that allows real-time video and audio transmission at up to 4K 120Hz.
Unlike conventional TVs, which have all input ports on the rear or sides, LG’s cinematic M3 comes with a separate wireless Zero Connect box that sends video and audio signals to the TV. This allows users to place the Zero Connect box away from the screen, creating a cleaner, distraction-free viewing environment and giving them greater freedom to arrange their space.
The set-top box has multiple ports for connecting commonly used devices, such as cable/satellite boxes and gaming consoles, and can also be used wirelessly to connect with compatible soundbars for richer, more powerful audio experiences. The M3 and its Zero Connect box allow users to easily install the new LG OLED TV without tangled cables. The sleek minimalism of the 97-inch TV’s One Wall Design is even more breathtaking when viewed with no wires to disturb the viewing experience.
LG’s wireless solution for the M3 OLED TV leverages state-of-the-art technologies to provide reliable video and audio transmission to the TV’s self-lit OLED screen, allowing users to enjoy the content at 4K 120Hz and clear, crisp sound without interruption or degradation of quality. To ensure seamless data transfer from the box to the TV, LG developed an algorithm that instantly identifies the optimal transmission path.
The Zero Connect box’s algorithm can minimize transmission errors or disruptions by recognizing changes in the immediate environment, such as people or pets moving around the room. The antenna can also be easily rotated and/or tilted to align with the TV’s location for maximum signal strength. Additionally, its voice-recognition feature lets users turn on and manage the M3 and connected devices using simple spoken commands.
