Leica and Disney Celebrate 100 Years of Wonder

Leica and Disney share a passion for storytelling and a commitment to quality. Walt Disney used Leica cameras and projectors from the very beginning to revolutionize the techniques of animated film. In fact, Disney’s Leica cameras and projectors changed the art of animation so profoundly that the term “Leica Reel” was coined. This technique combines illustrations and soundtrack to create precisely coordinated storyboards that convey stories that touch the heart.

To celebrate Disney’s 100th anniversary, Leica is proud to announce its collaboration with the limited edition Leica Q2 | Disney “100 Years of Wonder”. The special edition features Mickey Mouse, Disney’s most beloved character and one of the world’s most recognizable personalities. The cover of the camera shows the original 1937 drawing of Mickey Mouse by Don Towsley, one of Disney’s most renowned animators.

The Leica Q2 | Disney “100 Years of Wonder” boasts other design details such as an embossed top plate and display glass. The limited edition camera also includes a specially designed rope strap, a matching dust bag, and a certificate of authenticity. Unpack the camera from its specially designed packaging, and you’ll feel the anticipation of a camera that can help you tell your own fascinating stories.

Leica and Disney have a long-standing partnership that has revolutionized the world of animation. With the Leica Q2 | Disney “100 Years of Wonder,” Leica pays homage to this partnership and celebrates Disney’s 100th anniversary.
