Leica, the German camera manufacturer, has announced the launch of a new limited edition of its high-end compact camera, the Leica D-Lux 7, in celebration of the James Bond film franchise. The Leica D-Lux 7 007 Edition Limited Edition is an elegant and refined camera that embodies the classic James Bond values of discretion and readiness for action.
To accompany the launch of this special edition, film producer and passionate collector Michael G. Wilson has opened EON’s photographic archive for an exhibition of legendary Bond images. The exhibition, titled ‘Photographs from the James Bond Archive’, is on display at Leica Gallery London until 21st March 2023.
The Leica D-Lux 7 007 Edition is a limited edition set of only 1,962 units, marking the year of the franchise’s debut with Dr. No in 1962. The camera is made with a high-performance, rhombus-textured material that is unprecedented on a D-Lux 7. The camera’s top plate is adorned with the famous 007 logo, while the hand grip and wrist strap are also designed with a subtle rhombus pattern. The set includes an automatic lens cap with the classic ‘gun barrel’ design and a leather case in the style of a holster, allowing the camera to be transported comfortably and be instantly ready for action.
The Leica D-Lux 7 features a large image sensor and fast lens, and the Leica DC Vario-Summilux 10.9-34 f/1.7-2.8 ASPH. (35mm equivalent: 24 – 75mm), which combines outstanding image quality with conveniently compact dimensions.
The limited edition set will be available globally at Leica Stores, the Leica Online Store, and authorized dealers starting 23rd February 2023, with a recommended retail price of 1,990 EUR including VAT.
The Leica D-Lux 7 007 Edition is a fitting tribute to the iconic James Bond franchise, offering a classic and sophisticated camera with exclusive accessories that capture the essence of Bond’s timeless style.
