2024 KTM 1390 Super Duke R

In a bold and unexpected move, KTM has stormed into the Naked motorcycle segment with the fiercely anticipated 2024 KTM 1390 SUPER DUKE R and its high-tech sibling, the KTM 1390 SUPER DUKE R EVO. Celebrating 30 years of the DUKE lineage, these latest iterations stand as the most formidable and menacing yet.

Numbers paint an awe-inspiring picture: a commanding 1,350 cc engine delivering 190 horsepower at 10,000 rpm and a torque of 145 Nm at 8,000 rpm, translating to sheer ferocity on the road. Yet, it’s not just about raw power. The exceptional ability to transfer this power to the ground sets a new benchmark in performance.

The 2024 version of ‘THE BEAST’ undergoes a stunning aposematic evolution, sending a clear warning to challengers. An all-new LED headlight unit dominates its revamped design, accompanied by tank spoilers and added winglets that command respect. A trimmed subframe cover contributes to a sleeker, more aggressive aesthetic, emphasizing a sharper and purer riding experience. KTM has raised the attitude by lowering the altitude, accentuating the motorcycle’s muscular appearance.

Underneath the redesigned exterior lies meticulous engineering, evident in the revised air intake, airbox, and an expanded fuel tank capacity of 17.5 liters for extended riding ranges, nearing approximately 300 km. Each panel is intricately designed for optimal thickness, with added tank spoilers and winglets contributing to increased downforce.

The lightweight, ‘smart’ headlight design steals the spotlight, shedding nearly 700 grams from its predecessor while sporting an otherworldly appearance, enhancing the KTM 1390 SUPER DUKE R’s aggressive demeanor. Equipped with position and daytime running lights that adjust based on ambient light conditions, thanks to an integrated light sensor on the dashboard, it’s a visual and technological marvel.

Adding to its sophistication, both the KTM 1390 SUPER DUKE R and KTM 1390 SUPER DUKE R EVO feature Coming Home light functionality as standard. This feature keeps the headlight on after ignition shutdown, enhancing ambient visibility and safety, particularly in darker parking areas.

Powering this ferocious machine is an updated version of the LC8 engine, now boasting an increased bore of 110 mm to achieve the 1,350 cc displacement, alongside new cam shifts integrated into the cylinder heads. Notably, this not only amplifies power and torque across the RPM range but also ensures compliance with the latest EURO 5+ emission regulations.

Translating this power into the road is made possible by new lightweight MICHELIN Power GP tires featuring dual-compound technology, coupled with a new fully adjustable WP APEX shock absorber and improved DCC settings. Meanwhile, the KTM 1390 SUPER DUKE R EVO boasts the latest WP Semi-Active Technology, elevating suspension management to unprecedented levels with electronically controlled magnetic valves.

Both models introduce updated PERFORMANCE and TRACK MODES, complete with advanced telemetry stats and an optional ENGINE BRAKE CONTROL. The KTM 1390 SUPER DUKE R EVO also offers an enhanced SUSPENSION PRO module, showcasing KTM’s commitment to cutting-edge technology.

For enthusiasts seeking a nostalgic touch, the 30 YEARS OF DUKE colorways pay homage to the iconic 2005 KTM 990 SUPER DUKE in its classic orange scheme.
