Yamaha Motor Corporation has set the motorcycle world abuzz with its latest offerings—the 2024 TRACER 9 GT+ and the revamped Ténéré 700. Both motorcycles promise cutting-edge technology, unparalleled performance, and unmatched rider aids.
The 2024 TRACER 9 GT+: Elevating the Sport Touring Experience
This sport-touring beast comes equipped with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), a groundbreaking feature borrowed from high-end automobiles. The ACC system, combined with a radar-linked Unified Brake System (UBS), ensures a smoother and safer highway riding experience by maintaining a constant following distance and adjusting braking force when necessary.
The advanced six-axis IMU adds to the bike’s capabilities, enabling the Traction Control System (TCS), Slide Control System (SCS), and front-wheel Lift control system (LIF). These systems work in harmony, optimizing performance and enhancing rider confidence on various terrains. Plus, the new KYB® Actimatic Damper System® (KADS) electronically controlled suspension adds to the bike’s sporty performance while delivering a supremely comfortable ride.
But that’s not all—the TRACER 9 GT+ also features a third-generation quickshifter, allowing seamless gear changes without using the clutch. And the icing on the cake? The all-new full-color seven-inch TFT meter with three customizable screen layouts, making real-time information easily accessible to riders.
Yamaha has upped its connectivity game with the TRACER 9 GT+. Riders can now link their smartphones via Bluetooth® and Yamaha’s MyRide-Link app, which not only enables phone calls and music control but also offers access to weather information, text messages, and more. For navigation enthusiasts, the Garmin® Motorize app provides full-screen turn-by-turn navigation on the TFT display via a subscription service.
The Heart of the TRACER 9 GT+: The CP3® Engine
At the core of the TRACER 9 GT+ lies Yamaha’s renowned crossplane crankshaft 890cc CP3® engine. This powerhouse engine delivers broad, linear torque and exhilarating power, making it the perfect companion for sport touring adventures. Paired with the lightweight CF (controlled filling) aluminum die-cast frame, based on the Hyper Naked MT-09®, the TRACER 9 GT+ ensures agile handling and stability in any condition.
The 2024 Ténéré 700: Adventure Refined
The Ténéré 700 has already earned a special place in the hearts of adventure enthusiasts worldwide. For 2024, Yamaha has refined this middleweight adventure bike, incorporating some significant updates.
An Intuitive Display
The Ténéré 700 now features a rich new five-inch color TFT display with two screen themes to choose from, offering a modern dynamic design or a more traditional analog look. Riders can easily navigate through its functionalities using the scrolling dial on the right handlebar.
Y-Connect Smartphone Connectivity
Yamaha Y-Connect smartphone connectivity enhances the Ténéré 700 experience, allowing riders to stay connected on the road. The Y-Connect app enables direct communication between the motorcycle and the smartphone, notifying riders of incoming calls and texts. Additionally, it tracks and records essential ride data for analysis.
Three-Mode Selectable ABS
For added control, Yamaha has introduced a new three-mode selectable ABS feature for the Ténéré 700. Riders can now choose their preferred level of braking intervention, tailoring the bike’s performance to their preferences and riding conditions.
