Mido, a renowned Swiss watchmaker, has unveiled its latest creation, the Ocean Star Decompression Worldtimer Special Edition. This timepiece features a neo-vintage style, vibrant colors, and cutting-edge technology, making it irresistible to watch connoisseurs. The watch’s original-style decompression table and GMT function with a bezel displaying world time take its legendary design to new heights.
The Ocean Star Decompression Worldtimer’s vintage charm can be traced back to the 1960s when Mido created the innovative Ocean Star Skin Diver Watch. The original watch used a multicolored scale to display decompression times. Today, Mido has retained the vintage appeal of the watch while adding a second time zone display to propel it towards new horizons. To achieve this, Mido has used the latest technologies available in the quest for excellence, including Super-LumiNova®, a glassbox-style sapphire crystal, and the formidable Calibre 80 with Nivachron™ balance-spring and GMT function. The watch also comes with an additional strap that is easy to change.
The screw-down case back of the Ocean Star Decompression Worldtimer features an engraved starfish, symbolizing Mido’s historic achievements in water resistance. The watch’s water-resistant capabilities can withstand up to a pressure of 20 bar (200 m/660 ft), making it ideal for diving enthusiasts. The watch’s design revives the diving spirit of the 1960s, encouraging wearers to surf through frontiers, test the limits of jet lag, and the waves themselves.
The Ocean Star Decompression Worldtimer is available in two special editions. The first edition features a decompression table in gradients of yellow to orange (M026.829.17.051.00), Mido’s signature color, on a black dial with an aluminum ring and matching rubber strap. The second edition retains the original multicolored scale design of the Skin Diver Watch, featuring vibrant hues of blue, green, and orange on a black dial with a stainless steel bracelet.
Mido has once again proven its expertise in watchmaking with the Ocean Star Decompression Worldtimer Special Edition. The watch’s combination of vintage charm and cutting-edge technology, along with its water-resistant capabilities, make it an excellent choice for diving enthusiasts and watch connoisseurs alike.
