Swiss Army Knife manufacturer, Victorinox, has released a new range of watches, the Journey 1884, which pays tribute to the brand’s industrial roots and Swiss heritage. Designed to appeal to outdoor enthusiasts and urban explorers alike, the timepiece features a rubber strap and a hand design that replicates Swiss hiking signs, with the counterweight of the second hand evoking the iconic Swiss Army Knife.
The watch is available in both sporty quartz and sophisticated automatic versions, with the latter inspired by city travel and featuring a ceramic bezel and a highly tridimensional architectural dial. The watches are ISO certified for shock and water resistance, making them suitable for any activity.
In addition, the Journey 1884 range offers a wide selection of interchangeable straps made of paracord, rubber, leather, wood, and more, allowing for a personalized look that can be easily changed without the need for tools. The watches are designed, developed, tested, and manufactured in-house at Victorinox’s Watch Competence Center in Delémont, Switzerland, with the company aiming to integrate more of the manufacturing process over time.
The range also reflects Victorinox’s commitment to sustainability, with a minimum of 50 percent up to 90 percent of recycled steel used in the watch parts made of stainless steel 316L, and other recycled materials used where possible. The company also produces 20 percent of its electricity needs from solar panels and uses waste heat from production facilities for heating and water heating systems.
The Victorinox Journey 1884 can be purchased in specialty shops, Victorinox stores, and online, with a 5-year warranty+ offered as further testament to the brand’s commitment to quality.
