Junghans, a watch manufacturer from Schramberg, will be the Official Timing Partner for the 54th edition of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships taking place in Planica, Slovenia from 21 February to 5 March 2023. This will mark the third consecutive time that Junghans has accompanied this major event as the Official Timing Partner. To commemorate the event, Junghans is launching two limited edition timepieces, the 1972 Competition FIS Edition Lemon and the 1972 Chronoscope Quarz Edition FIS Lemon. Both watches are limited to 150 pieces each and embody the company’s connection to winter sports.

Junghans has a long history of accompanying major sporting events, particularly between 1960 and 1980. The company began production of handheld stopwatches in the 1920s and set standards in sports timing with the development of several technical innovations, including the alpine disciplines of downhill and slalom. With the introduction of the electronic start control system, “chronometry” in top sports reached its peak through Junghans in 1972.
The 1972 Competition FIS Edition Lemon and the 1972 Chronoscope Quarz Edition FIS Lemon both feature a sports-style lemon and black color design, which references the extroverted style of the 1970s and underscores its dynamic design. In particular, the contrasting execution of the counting hands and totalizers ensures the ideal readability of the indications. Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides and water resistance of up to 10 bar additionally equip both chronographs for sporting use.
