TAG Heuer Monza Flyback Chronometer Special Edition

For TAG Heuer, the Monza watch is a significant timepiece in more than 160 years of history and is a tribute to the company’s longtime connection to motorsport. The new TAG Heuer Monza Flyback Chronometer is a special edition with a 42-mm carbon case. It is ultra-lightweight and resistant to scratches.

The watch’s dial features a two-register layout with a translucent fumé blue sapphire crystal chronograph counter at 3 and the permanent second at 6 o’clock. The skeletonized dial shows off the movement beneath and echoes the piece’s mechanical roots. The date window at 9 o’clock is highlighted in blue luminescent, a first for TAG Heuer, and the indexes and hands are applied with Super-LumiNova® to ensure better legibility in low light.

The TAG Heuer Monza Flyback Chronometer is powered by the in-house Calibre Heuer 02 Flyback movement, which has been certified by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC). The flyback function on the Chronograph Calibre Heuer 02 offers the ability to reset the chronograph without stopping it, using the black DLC steel pushbuttons. This feature was previously only available on TAG Heuer’s current Autavia model and allows for even faster and more accurate timekeeping.

The chronograph features three essential functions for racing drivers: a chronograph, which measures elapsed time; a tachymeter scale indicating average speed for distances of 1 kilometer and 1 mile, measured using the indicator on the black flange; and a pulsometer, which helps determine one’s heart rate per minute. The user starts the chronograph and counts 15 heartbeats, stopping the chronograph when he or she obtains a personal reading. The pulsometer offers readings ranging from 60 to 200 beats per minute.

The red details on the dial, such as the sub-counter hands and the framing of the date window, evoke exhilarating speed. They contrast elegantly against the black dial and case and the bright blue indexes and seconds hand. These details are also found on a custom textile strap in blue and red hues.

Designed for the bold, confident, and daring driver, the TAG Heuer Monza Flyback Chronometer is a collector’s piece that expertly ties in decades of racing heritage with daring contemporary design and cutting-edge engineering. Available from January 2023, the chronograph is presented in special packaging.
