Sportswear brand PUMA is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year with a new collection inspired by its beloved mascot, Super PUMA. The collection includes a limited edition comic book characterizing the adventures of a fearless green cat, which is the feline protagonist behind the new capsule. PUMA collaborated with German toy company Steiff to create a plush toy of Super PUMA, along with three collectible pieces.
The Super R698 sneaker is designed with fuzzy suede from heel to toe, mixed with Evergreen and Sun Ray Yellow hits on the upper, and a cushioned Trinomic sole unit underneath. The shoe features detachable Super PUMA hangtags, custom insoles, and special laces, adding to the fun yet ferocious take on the R698. The Super Jacket, which is inspired by lines from the PUMA T7 tracksuit, boasts a retro-collegiate aesthetic, with special patches on the arm, chest, and back, and a Super PUMA mascot pattern in the inner lining.
The Steiff collaboration brings the Super PUMA to life with a plush toy. The 2023 Super PUMA collection will be available on May 6th at select retailers. The collection celebrates the brand’s history and honors the iconic mascot that has been loved for decades.
