Sony Float Run Headphone

Sony has announced a new model of headphones designed specifically for runners, known as the WI-OE610 “Float Run.” These off-ear headphones feature a unique design that positions the speaker near, but without touching, the ear canal, while leaving the ear safely uncovered. This allows for a rich sound experience without the worry of pressure on the ears or sweat and chafing getting in the way of a workout.

The Float Run headphones have a lightweight design with a flexible neckband that stays in place, no matter how the runner moves. They have been tested on a wide range of head shapes and hairstyles and were found to stay secure even when worn with accessories such as hats and sunglasses. The 16mm drivers and precise tuning provide a more natural and wider sound, and the open-type design diminishes echo of sounds the body makes, such as footsteps, chewing or heavy breathing, while allowing in ambient sound.

Sony Float Run Headphones are designed to fill the user’s ears, but not cover them, so wearers can be aware of their surroundings. They also have an IPX4 splash-resistant design, so they can withstand sweat or rain without damage. With long battery life and up to 10 hours of playtime when fully charged, the Float Run headphones will power long runs. They can also be quickly charged for an hour of playtime in just 10 minutes.

The Float Run headphones also have built-in controls for playback and accessing a smartphone’s voice assistant, as well as a high-quality built-in microphone for productivity tasks. They charge using USB-C and come with a carrying pouch to keep the supplied charging cable and headphones together and protected. The Sony Float Run headphones will be available for purchase in February and will be priced at MSRP $129.99 online at Sony Electronics.
