Longines employs a unique mechanism, exclusive to the brand, where the power reserve indicator is placed on the central uncoiling disc. The innovative design, reminiscent of a widened baton, indicates the depletion level on the external coiling disc, providing a visual representation of the watch’s remaining running time. Rewinding can be accomplished by turning the crown or simply through the movement of the wrist, causing the coiling disc to rotate. This not only ensures functionality but also creates an ever-changing aesthetic on the dial, offering a poetic representation of the passage of time.
