Harley-Davidson 2023 Electra Glide Highway King

Harley-Davidson, the renowned motorcycle manufacturer, has introduced the latest addition to its Icons Motorcycle Collection program – the 2023 Electra Glide Highway King. This limited edition model pays homage to the iconic 1968 FLH Electra Glide and seamlessly blends nostalgic design elements with modern comfort and technology.

The Electra Glide Highway King is a true embodiment of vintage charm, featuring laced wheels, wide-whitewall tires, a two-tone windshield, and a solo suspension seat. These design elements are reminiscent of the era when the original FLH Electra Glide ruled the roads, a time of paper maps and affordable 15-cent burgers.

As part of the annual Icons Motorcycle Collection program, each model is released in limited quantities and comes with a unique serial number. The production of the Electra Glide Highway King will be capped at just 1,750 units, ensuring exclusivity and collectability.

Brad Richards, Harley-Davidson’s Vice President of Design and Creative Director, expressed his excitement about the Highway King model, stating, “In its day, this was a really deluxe motorcycle. We’ve carefully selected colors that reflect the original options offered in 1968. Our aim was to create a thoroughly modern motorcycle that proudly exudes old-school charm.”

The Electra Glide Highway King will be available in two striking color options: Hi-Fi Orange, with a production limit of 1,000 units, and Hi-Fi Magenta, limited to just 750 units. The hard-shell saddlebags will be finished in Birch White, and a Black Denim panel on the fuel tank will be separated from the primary color by a Birch White accent stripe. The tank badge closely resembles the one used in 1968. Notably, each motorcycle will feature a laser-etched Icons Motorcycle Collection graphic and serialization badge on the console insert.

Delving into the performance aspects, the Electra Glide Highway King boasts a sturdy single-spar Harley-Davidson Touring frame with a rigid backbone design, ensuring reliability for long-distance rides. The rear shock absorbers’ pre-load can be easily adjusted with a single hydraulic knob to optimize ride and control based on the bike’s load. The dual bending valve suspension technology in the 49mm forks ensures a smooth and comfortable journey.

Under the hood, the Electra Glide Highway King is equipped with the formidable Milwaukee-Eight 114 V-Twin engine, delivering powerful performance. Enthusiasts looking for an extra boost can explore various Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle Stage Upgrade kits compatible with this engine. The motorcycle also features standard electronic cruise control, making long rides more enjoyable. The nostalgic styling is complemented by a halogen headlamp, auxiliary lamps, and an array of Rider Safety Enhancements, including a Cornering Enhanced Anti-Lock Brake System, Cornering Enhanced Electronic Linked Braking, Cornering Enhanced Traction Control System, Cornering Drag-torque Slip Control System, and Vehicle Hold Control.
