DJI RS 3 Mini

DJI, a designer of high-quality stabilizers and aerial UAVs, has announced the release of its newest handheld travel stabilizer, the DJI RS 3 Mini. The lightweight DJI RS 3 Mini is designed to support today’s mainstream brands of mirrorless cameras and lenses while allowing users to create professional-grade content in a variety of locations. The RS 3 Mini weighs less than 800 g (1.8 lbs), making it ideal for traveling with your camera gear around landscapes and urban environments. Furthermore, it can hold a weight up to 2 kg (4.4 lbs), features Bluetooth shutter control, a 3rd generation stabilization algorithm, native horizontal and vertical camera mounting, as well as a 1.4-inch color touchscreen.

The RS 3 Mini is a compact and portable all-in-one camera. It weighs just 795 g (1.7 lbs) in vertical shooting mode, approximately 50% lighter than the RS 3 Pro and 40% lighter than the RS 3. This makes it easier to carry, allowing you to achieve great results with just one hand. The device can be stored easily in a shoulder bag and its weight makes it much more suited to traveling during longer outdoor shooting.

The RS 3 Mini can support a variety of mirrorless camera and lens combinations, such as the Sony A7S3 + 24-70mm F2.8 GM lens, Canon EOS R5 + RF24-70mm F2.8 STM lens or Fuji X-H2S + XF 18-55 mm F2.8-4 lens. A powerful motor ensures that footage remains stable even when the zoom reaches its maximum focal length, so no additional balancing is needed.

The RS 3 Mini features a newly designed, dual-layered quick-release plate for vertical shooting. Attach the quick-release plate to the vertical arm and shoot a video without needing additional accessories. RS 3 Mini rotation angle is not limited compared to traditional vertical mode, and short social media content can be shot with ease.

The 3rd generation stabilization algorithm found in DJI’s RS 3 Pro has been incorporated into the smaller and more nimble RS 3 Mini. Whether you’re running, shooting from low angles or using the flash, content is stabilized without the need for special skills. Shooting around human subjects is no problem for this device, as it can smoothly follow people and switch between high and low angles for a greater range of shots. Dynamic 360°-rotation imaging delivers a strong visual impact.

The Wireless Bluetooth Shutter function supports linking with many mainstream mirrorless cameras. Once linked, the camera will be automatically ready for action as soon as it is turned on, and users can control video recording and photo capture functions via the record button on the gimbal. When using a Sony camera with a supported power zoom lens, users can also control the optical or digital zoom via a front dial, eliminating the need for a control cable.

To provide easy control, the gimbal has a 1.4-inch full-color touchscreen, M-mode button to switch between three custom modes, and a focusing dial on the handle.

The integrated battery handle of the RS 3 Mini provides up to ten hours of charge and can be fully charged in as little as two and a half hours.

The DJI RS 3 Mini can be purchased for $369.
