Husqvarna Motorcycles has announced the launch of their latest adventure touring motorcycle, the Norden 901 Expedition. This versatile machine is designed to provide riders with a comfortable and reliable means of exploring offroad environments with ease. Equipped with top-of-the-line features and accessories, the Norden 901 Expedition is a highly-capable motorcycle that offers riders an unparalleled level of control and convenience.
The Norden 901 Expedition is fitted with WP XPLOR suspension, which provides 240mm of travel to ensure riders can tackle even the toughest terrain with ease. This premium suspension system is fully adjustable, allowing riders to fine-tune the compression, rebound, and preload settings to create a personalised set-up based on their individual preferences. With this suspension, riders can explore further and for longer, with a smooth and comfortable ride guaranteed.
To enhance rider comfort on long-distance journeys, Husqvarna has fitted many of their Technical Accessories as standard. The adjustable heated grips and rider seat provide instant warmth for those early morning starts or when exploring colder climates. A new Touring Windshield is also included, deflecting wind around the motorcycle and reducing rider fatigue considerably, particularly at higher speeds. The Side Bag Set is pre-fitted, offering up to 36 litres of storage capacity, making it easy to pack all the necessary equipment for an adventure.
The Norden 901 Expedition is powered by an 889cc parallel-twin engine, which produces 105 hp and 100 Nm of torque. This versatile engine is particularly efficient across challenging offroad terrain, providing riders with a broad spread of smooth, controllable power. The engine is housed inside a steel trellis frame, working in tandem with the chromium-molybdenum chassis to provide exceptional agility, rider feedback, and comfort throughout the longest of riding days.
For ease of maintenance and protection, the Norden 901 Expedition is fitted with a new centre stand, engine guard, and Connectivity Unit. The Ride Husqvarna Motorcycles app, which is available from Apple AppStore and Google Playstore, can be installed on a smartphone, and the device paired to the motorcycle’s Connectivity Unit via Bluetooth. This provides riders with downloadable maps, Turn-by-Turn+ navigation, Call-In, Call-Out, and real-time traffic information. Music selection and volume can also be controlled safely while riding using the handlebar-mounted buttons.
Technical highlights of the Norden 901 Expedition include the four selectable ride modes – Street, Rain, Offroad, and Explorer – and the cutting-edge, switchable cornering ABS with Offroad mode. The easy shift function, cornering-sensitive traction control, and Power Assist Slipper Clutch (PASC) all contribute to the motorcycle’s exceptional performance on and offroad. The Norden 901 Expedition is also fitted with tubeless spoked wheels in offroad dimensions and Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres, providing maximum performance on the street and offroad. The large capacity 19-litre fuel tank provides an extended range of up to 400 km, enabling riders to explore further without worrying about refuelling.
